I remembered the other embarassing loss for Vlad. He lost to Gelfand in the FIDE qualifiers in 1993 or 92.. Srini - Thursday, July 12, 2001 at 01:42:48 (CEST) 7/12/2001 Theorem: "Kramnik is sole world champion". Proof: "Refer to Note by DTSteel, 7/9/2001". Assumption: FIDE (The Intl Org) title is the real WCC. As other PRIVATE matches are not democratic. Contradictions: 1. "Lasker defeated Steinitz, but with no cycle preceding. Does that mean Lasker was not world champion?" Yes. It was a private match. 2. "If so, who was?" Firstly there were no established International Org (like FIDE). Hence open to speculation. In case of Gary Kasparov, he gave up his World Title in 1993 after the Coup he pulled of with Short. Hence the match between Vlad and Gary and that of Gary and Anand (1995) should be private matches. 3. "world champion historically has been the best match player". In this case your argument for "Vlad being World champion" is completely wrong. Based on his match record he has 2 wins (one against Yudasin, 2nd aagainst Gary). He has lost all other matcjhes including, the lates loss to Anand (even if it was Rapid chess) in Mainz, Kamsky in 1995 and Shirov in Cazorla (1998?).. Dont remember other embarassing losses@the moment for Vlad. 4."He's the world #2, has a great lifetime record against Kasparov, and hadn't been given a chance yet (like Anand)". Firstly we are talking about a private match again. In any case this Private match atleast had some legit to it as it had a qualification cycle. Here's the results. Anand qualifies for the PCA (initial Candidates round) then beat Oleg Romanishing in QF, Michael Adams in SF and Gata Kamsky in Canary Islands in 1995, before qualifying to play Gary. HENCE THE SPOT WAS NOT GIVEN TO ANAND. HE EARNED IT. Now Vlad definitely did not do that, in fact he lost to Shirov in the qualifying match that Anand refuesed to play. Go figure. 5. Even if you dont consider FIDE WCC good enough.. do you acknowledge its democratic? No special previliges for anybody? Thanks. -srini Srini - Thursday, July 12, 2001 at 01:28:36 (CEST) 7/12/2001 Hello There Stop fighting Foo - Thursday, July 12, 2001 at 01:12:57 (CEST) 7/9/2001 Theorem: Kramnik is sole world champion. Proof: In order to become world champion, you must defeat the previous champion in a match. The candidates cycle is irrelevant. Kramnik defeated Kasparov, therefore Kramnik is champion. Example: Lasker defeated Steinitz, but with no cycle preceding. Does that mean Lasker was not world champion? If so, who was? Remark: The FIDE Championships is a knockout tournament. Note the use of the word tournament. The 'matches' involved are not really matches in any traditional sense. Thus (a) the FIDE champion does not have to win any real 'match' (b) the FIDE champion does not have to defeat the previous champion to gain the title (a) is important as the world champion historically has been the best match player. That is the player who no body could defeat in a prolonged one on one contest. That player is not neccesarily the best tournament player, for example Petrosian held the title but never had great tournament success. Also, in less abstract terms, who was there more suited to challenge Kasparov than Kramnik? He's the world #2, has a great lifetime record against Kasparov, and hadn't been given a chance yet (like Anand). Seems like a good choice. What about Shirov you say? Well, no doubt he would have made a good breakfast, er, challenger for Kasparov. Self-mate in two anybody? Also, lets remember that Kasparov defended his title 3 times in the 8 year-ish period he held it after breaking from FIDE. Thats more often than the regular 3 year rate. I'm just saying we should calm down here and take a look at the past and present before we judge too harshly. DTSteel <dsteel@uclink4.berkeley.edu> Berkeley, California USA - Monday, July 09, 2001 at 07:11:34 (CEST) 7/2/2001 From the logical point of view Kramnik is completely wrong. He had qualified for the match with Kasparov as the loser of Cazorla. Therefore, it is Kasparov, the loser in London, who should be considered the champ, not him. Dubbs - Monday, July 02, 2001 at 03:05:12 (CEST) 6/30/2001 Heres a clip of an interview given by Big Bad Vlad in Mainz Germany, 2 days ago. Read it. Heres what I dont understand. Vlad claims El Khalif and Anand should be called WC 1 & 2 as the Fide WCC follows a different knockout format. Ok. Agreed.. NOW How the fuck does Vlad's claim to be number 14 come tru?, when he was selected to play the final by the hairy ape and DID NOT HAVE TO QUALIFY THROUGH AN INTENSIVE CNADIDATES TOURN??? Where is the legit for his title then?? Metz: From my point of view the debate was mainly focussed around the titles that were put after the signatures - in particular your number as 14th world champion. When I asked Viswanathan Anand about that issue, he stressed that Alexander Chalifman and himself have the right to be called nos. 14 and 15 in the history of world chess champions. Kramnik: I would like to take this opportunity to highlight my viewpoint: firstly, I could not care less which number I am given. This does not make any difference. If you want to be very pedantic or very exact you have to take a look at the format of current world championships. The FIDE world championship, which is organised as a knockout tournament, has no connection with the traditional evolution of chess titles that were held by Lasker, Steinitz or Alekhine. These 14 world champions, if you count me as 14th, have in common that they achieved the title as winner of a final duel. This history goes back further than FIDE. If they lay claim to have the right system, and I'm not a legal world champion, the association should start a new system of counting, without reference to Lasker, Capablanca and Alekhine. From a logical point of view they are utterly wrong. But generally speaking, I do not care what method they use to count. I realize that this site "brings out the fringe" but geez Chess should be celebrated, not denegrated. When Chess gets dragged into the morass of international politics - such as Nato - and the title of this site - Democracy - I think that it is a sign that really smart people haven't found enough to do with their brains. Well, let ME also make myself clear. First of all, talking about respect to Ks (and to all the mentioned and not yet mentioned by you great chessplayers), I meaned just respect for a CHESSPLAYER, not for a person. However their personal qualities (well, you know, Capablanca ands Fischer were no gift for chess community neither), they DID play good games. It is abstract from their behaviour, personality or whatever. As a person, GAZZA &Co are just disgusting not to say worth. That’s why I just don’t want to commentit – it’s clear (for most people). About the results of (unfortunately) little possible match Kramnik-Shirov, no one can know the results. I am no fan of Kramnik, at all, and no fan of Shirov, just you are neither a Nostradamus, so let’s stop commenting this, if you don’t want it to look like a competition of astrologists. About GAZZA&Deep Blue, seems it was a pure advertising of IBM. About GAZZA &Vlad, it neither looks very natural. About agreeing on SOMETHING with Oldsock (please first read then comment, sometimes it helps), I agreed that the match between Kramnik and Shirov would “help evaporate” the unhealthy athmosphere around the WCC of the Who Knows What. No matter where it will be held. So stop being so sure everybody else is as stupid as you seem to be (sorry, no personal insults, just keepin’the tone). Best Wishes& if you just try a bit harder you will be able to write even more funny comments than GM Salov (congratulations!)R: proletarian: “Who cares about their chess after that?” The one who dedicates more time to CHESS than to discussing personalities and events. There's only one real victim of the Cazorla operation, and that's Lembit Oll. Lembit was seeded into the second round of the Las Vegas Championship and was scheduled to receive 10G no matter what. When he died a bunch of vultures fought to take his spot and no one thought of sending these 10G to Lembit's widow. You capitalist pigs have no heart for the two orphaned boys back in Tallinn. FUCK YOU. You are no different to me: faggot Karpov, hairy ape Kasparov, selfish pig Kramnik, dickless Shirov, sleek Anand. Respect, is for only decent and honest people. Unfortunately Gazza or the FAG karpov (as most of my Russian friends have told me) does not fit the Bill. Well, Dear "L" again.. maybe you are not sure about the result of Kramnik - Shirov match. But I am. It has been proved once. Remeber Match play is diff from Tourn. I dont know what happened to Gazza, maybe some similar syndrome to his match against Deep Blue or some other ridiculous reaosn. Of course, you may say I am not in position to express any opinion on this “highly democratic site”, but, being one of these on whose behalf Valery Salov and FIDE pretend to be talking, I would like to remind, that Valdimir Kramnik, who “calls himself” the World Champion, won this title from Garry Kasparov, and used to be the one who won over Kasparov for several times before and after… OK, no matter of this subject… just, you being openly impolite towards GM Kramnik… is it envy?? Valery, I have nothing against you as a chess player, you were even quite a decent GM before you occupied yourself with unneeded “political activity” in chess, but would not it be just normal to pay a little respect to whom is better than you? Then. You mentioned that “the quality of classic chess will be little inferior than that of the advanced chess with new time control”. Valery… ?????…. OK, I understand, that might say my neighbour who does not get a clue on chess… but you, a Grandmaster…. Or was it- a type error? Sorry, no logical comment for THIS. The open letter of 3K might be one of little number of decent things coming from Kasparov. There is no need to be paranoid and think that someone wants to administrate chess affaires more than you. Best wishes PS. Some days ago I asked my spouse if he wanted to become a World Champion… “No, I do not want to confond myself with the masses” – my spouse answered. PPS. Right back to Proletarian. The rag's new feature is the "Just Puking" mini-interview on the last page. Really sickening. The Jew of the month, Bora Gelfand paints a picture of himself as a post-Soviet intellectual who loves Hollywood in its dumbest and still listens to what was considered rebellious 20 years ago. And how about his favorite color, green. Is he preparing for the inevitable day when the GREEN banner of Islam will be risen over Israel? Good thinking, Bora, you're scoring points for the afterlife. Srini, my thoughts on the injustice to Shirov are already clear. What I object to is Salov's attempt to conflate this legitimate outrage with his own agenda. Personally, I may sympathise with that agenda but that is beside the point. Oldsock - Friday, May 11, 2001 at 17:03:56 (CEST) 5/11/2001 Unless Salov can make it back to the top 20 then I fear his winnings would not suffice to keep him in the manner to which has become accustomed. Probably, that explains his retirement. He grew up in the cradle of the Soviet system. As Russia was sinking, he jumped ship and found a benefactor in the person of Senor Rentero. OK, he has a wife to support (no pattering of tiny feet?), a rather atractive blonde, so of course, I don't reproach him for this. Change just one letter, Oll - oil, and back we go to the Middle East. Estonians have a knack of getting mixed up in big politics and they usually get the short end of it. Or the business end of the big stick the Great Satan is carrying - whichever way you like it. The pride and hero of the Estonian people, Paul Keres, right after WWII was trampled under the wheels of the World-Championship bound KGB ironclad of Soviet School of Chess, driven by Big Bad Misha himself. Paul barely avoided Siberia, fought courageously in Candidate Tournaments for the next 15 years, and then what? He got denounced by young Bobby for being just one of the Russians. You remember, that's an old one: in Zurich 1961 Bobby proclaimed that he would beat all the Russians, and almost did so! Then one wise-ass Soviet GM mentioned to Bobby that in fact he played an Armenian, a Jew and an Estonian. "No matter - you're all Russians to me", dismissed Bobby. Lesson of Lembit: when the big boys clash you can't stay on the sidelines and admire the show unless you're a Swiss banker, a lowest form of all worms, who'd happily bankroll either side. So don't blame the surviving Estonian, Jaan Kalev, when he publicly announces his conversion to Islam during the Astana Supertournament. I hope they'll allow him to keep using toilet paper. Oldsock - Monday, May 07, 2001 at 23:04:25 (CEST) 5/7/2001 Taken from http://www.chessbase.com/events/linar01/games/lr10rep.htm Inevitable we moved on to the Shirov question. And Kasparov's demanded of an apology from the lapsed Latvian after his accusation that his match with Kramnik was "fixed". "I would accept even the softest form of apology or retraction. But he's preferred to ignore me. This situation could never arise in tennis – he would be fined so much he would forget how to open his mouth." Which all conveniently brings us to the man in question himself: Alexei Shirov. Not so self-assured about himself as Polgar, Karpov or Kasparov were with the press, Shirov had about him the air of rabbit caught in the coming headlights of a car as he looked nervously round the assembled hacks in the press room. Dealing with the press was never Alexei's strong point. He's always preferred to let his play at the board do all the talking. But this time he'd had a very poor tournament performance – his worst in years. Inevitably the "Kasparov problem" came up very quickly. Asked if he believed that the match between Kasparov and Kramnik was fixed, Shirov replied "It's not what I believe or don't believe. I never said it publicly and that's it. The match was arranged, not the result, but because Kramnik was in no way a legitimate challenger, I said that the match was 'arranged' in the sense that those two players were chosen for the match, conveniently overlooking my legitimate claims to title match with Kasparov." Oldsock - Monday, May 07, 2001 at 22:49:40 (CEST) 5/7/2001 This is in very bad taste. Why drag poor old Lembit into it? It was quite evident, from the coverage on TWIC and your tone, what you thought of the "FIDE WCC". Its just that, I dont see whats wrong with a Democratic event like the FIDE championship? 1. Its being held every year. 2. No one gets sepcial chances. 3. Every one fights it out for decent cash. There is good money in the event, and if Octogan is given a chance maybe even more. But I am sure irresponsible journalists like you and Ree would make doubly sure that does not happen and screw it up. Fine lets have this: 1. Kramnik will play the winner of Fritz and Junior. 2. We certainly do not presume to represent all of them - because of the great variety, often disparity, of their views. We deny access to our organization to all those players who (openly or covertly) maintain Nazi, InterNazi and racist views. As you understand, this already eliminates a considerable number of possible candidates. We take a special pride in our educational program, which aims at rehabilitation of the corrupt InterNazi chess journalists, those of them who encourage and add credibility to the morally uncouth elements in the chess world, being related to them by close Nazi links. It's our policy not to publicize the names of the WPC members to safeguard the professional interests of the players - it is well known that the ruling Establishment (outside FIDE) tends to blacklist the independent, intelligent and honest players. The election of the WPC officials is subject to rigorously democratic procedures that are inherent to the inner circles of our organization. No external interference will be tolerated. You are welcome to participate in the exchange of opinions at our forum. I ask your kind permission to post there your letter and my answer to you. Joseph McCarthy Sr. <Bethesda, Maryland> - Monday, February 19, 2001 at 15:53:15 (CET) 2/18/2001 On February 16, U.S. planes bombed south of Baghdad at approximately 1:55 pm EST today (8:55 pm in Iraq). While this bombing of Baghdad was dramatic, catching the world's attention and demonstrating the aggressive nature of the Bush administration, the fact is that since December 1998 (when the U.S. bombed Iraq for four straight days in so-called Operation Desert Fox), the U.S. has dropped nearly 20,000 bombs and missiles on Iraq. These bombings are always said to be hitting anti-aircraft, but have hit a water reservoir, hospitals and schools. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Iraqis died from these bombings. And even when there's no bombing, 5,000 Iraq children die each month as a direct result of the U.S.- led UN sanctions. This Bush administration is clearly following in the footsteps of the previous two administrations, those of Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr. This bombing is also a message to the Arab World that the U.S. supports the election of the right-wing war criminal Ariel Sharon as Prime Minister of Israel. Joseph McCarthy III - Friday, February 16, 2001 at 17:04:21 (CET) 2/16/2001 History lesson for the illiterate (and there seems to be a lot of your here): The US government had the basics of the internet since the 60's. I'll pick up where I left off with the arpanet, yrs before the WWW concept was hatched in england. As ARPANET grew in the 1970s, with more and more universities and institutions connecting to it, users found it necessary to establish standards for the way that data was transmitted over the network. To meet the needs of data transmission standards, computer scientists developed the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocol (IP). During the 1970s various government, scientific, and academic groups developed their own networks. Examples include the Department of Energy's (DoE) Magnetic Fusion Energy Network (MFENet), the High Energy Physics NETwork (HEPNET), and the National Science Foundation NETwork (NSFNET). In 1989 English computer scientist Timothy Berners-Lee introduced the World Wide Web. Berners-Lee initially designed the WWW to aid communication between physicists who were working in different parts of the world for the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN). As it grew, however, the WWW revolutionized the use of the Internet. "Internet," Microsoft(R) Encarta(R) 98 Encyclopedia. (c) 1993-1997 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. From an American perspective, it would appear that one of the purposes of the Gore-Chernomyrdin Commission may have been to burnish the Vice President’s foreign policy credentials and make his management of U.S.-Russia relations a centerpiece of his potential campaign themes. First, I totally agree with Valery's Open letter. I just hope other GM's will take some initiative in joining the "right" side of the debate. Ok, lets see. On one side you have Anand, who won a gruelling tournament, capped with a brilliant victory over Shirov. He became WC. I think he was already WC in 1997, NOT consiering the farce with Karpov and FIDE's stupidity, but thats just my opinion. On the other side Kramnik also won a brilliant victory over Gary. But, the problem is, Kramnik "DID NOT DESERVE THE SHOT" at what ever it was that Kasparov held! In any case, it should have been SHIROV, and being the biggest possible fan of Anand, I will admit, his decision to agree to play Gary last year, in the least was hasty. He shouldn't have done that. In any case Anand (and in a way I am thankful for that, because he himself may not have been happy of depriving Shirov) didn't get a shot, but Kramnik did ..why?? However, now there is just one champ, thats Anand. Just to add to the history, El Khalif was the previous WC. Now lets take a look at the FIDE WCC itself. Journalists, Mark Crowther, included, have always written, that there is a certain amount of luck or the lottery factor involved. Ok.., 1. So what? Whats wrong with it? It happens. At least you dont get to be "Lucky" by just asking for it. You still have to play chess. 2. In TWIC XXX (dont remeber the number), but Kramink after, his reasonable performance in Vegas (he lost to Adams) wrote an absolutely ridiculous article, on how top players always had to play top players and actually didn't do too badly. Well VLAD, tough. You lost fair and square and thats it. 3. Its about time, that Gary and Kramnik just play in the FIDE WCC and we will see, who the next WCC is. Its very simple .. compete and Win on the Chess board. 4. Lets not talk about Gary's differences with FIDE. He is going to play in the up coming, Fide Rapid World cup, isn't he? Anyway, who the hell is he to decide if the money is clean? Leave it to appropriate authorities. Maybe he should just play chess and concentrate on his own business activities.. 5. Time controls.. So what if its shorter? Every body has the same conditions .. just compete and stop complaining. Personally, I would like the older time formats, but why reject something before trying it out. 6. The Media coverage in India was great, Mark. You just dont realize it. Dont trust everything written in kasparovchess.com. You have an excellent example of democratic attitude in our site: we always welcome and even encourage all our critics even though they usually come without any arguments at all and only call names at us. The main problem with the likes of Leontxo Garcia, Henderson, Miggs, and so on, is not in their corruptedness, lack of education and intellect (though it´s also true), but rather lies in the fact that they form an ethnically hermetic corporation which suppresses every opinion that doesn't suit the interests of their racist group. It is not "a giant conspiracy" but a very trivial and primitive form of Nazism, or InterNazism, to be more precise. By now this phenomenon has already been very well studied and described. These people always try to reduce every protest to some biased, personal emotions, and your remarks only follow the general trend. Now about your questions, our objective friend: 1) Did FIDE give bounced checks to the Las Vegas players? - Yes, and we´ll do our best to kick Israel Gelfer, who was personally responsible for this supposed crime, out of FIDE. Thank you for helping us. 2) Is Ilyumzhinov under investigation by Moscow for financial malfeasance in Kalmykia? - We have no information about it, but we know for sure that he did not flee from Moscow like Vladimir Gusinsky, the WJC Vice-President, did. For the moment, the Spanish judge Baltasar Garzon refused to extradite Gusinsky to the Russian authorities and hereby blocked all attempts to try him for the committed crimes. We also know that Bill Clinton, Madeleine Albright and Javier Solana were sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment for their crimes against the Yugoslavian people. Try to enforce this sentence on them, our objective and not too crazy friend. 3) Was there significant media attention to the FIDE KO events? - Yes. The World Championship in Delhi-Tehran had a fantastic coverage in India and Iran. Only Western Nazi journalistic groups tried to ignore or downtalk the event. It´s our personal challenge to educate these people and explain to them their mistakes. You are welcome to ask more questions. Leonxto Garcia and Yasser Seirawan are not part of a mafia. People read them and listen to them because they write well, speak from knowledge, and generally know what they are talking about. If you disagree with them say why instead of rambling on forever in some attempt to "decode" what they are saying. Give the Umberto Eco imitation a rest. You attack them personally but present no answer when it comes to the facts. Instead you have counter-accusations, the typical reaction of someone with no answer. The inability to give a one-word answer ("Yes" or "No") to a simple question is a serious show of weakness. Did FIDE give bounced checks to Las Vegas players? Yes or no? Is Ilyumzhinov under investigation by Moscow for financial malfeasance in Kalmykia? Yes or no? Was there significant media attention to the FIDE KO events? (No, but it's a conspiracy! Of course!)Etc. People aren't fools when they ask for evidence. And Salov should write essays with his own opinions AND do interviews in New Delhi instead of trying to do both at the same time, offending his readers and his subjects both. Objectivity Objectivity <salovesloco@hotmail.com> flint, michigan USA - Monday, December 18, 2000 at 11:25:10 (EST) 12/9/2000 After censoring Salov´s interview to Xie Jun we can see good examples of nazis. We don´t need Salov to tell their names. We know who they are - politicians and journalists. When they read Salov´s interview they forced FIDE to censor him your shadow - Saturday, December 09, 2000 at 02:18:49 (EST) 12/9/2000 I have followed the course of Salov's evident contempt for Kasparov from his 1993 refusal to shake his hand, through his entertaing sallies in NIC, right up to this his latest project. I can't help but think that there must be more to it than Salov lets on. Something personal. Oldmaid - Saturday, December 09, 2000 at 00:37:50 (EST) 12/9/2000 No, you misunderstand - I just didn't want to malign Salov unfairly. Call it my inbred sense of natural justice. El Secretariado del WPC - Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at 08:45:50 (EST) 11/26/2000 I don't want to malign Salov unfairly, but I can't help recalling the following: "Unfortunately Morphy fell under the influence of Edge, an Iago-like journalist who, under the pretext of acting as self-appointed secretary to Morphy, manipulated him..to render his reports more sensational." Our president is widely known for lucidity of his mind, nothing can cloud his judgement, including far stronger stimuli than money. 2. You have noticed "chess holocaust", fine, please pay heed to "journalistic gangs" as well. 3. "Californian deal" never existed on paper, in your own words it was no "legally binding document", so there's no need to drag it in. El Secretariado del WPC - Saturday, November 25, 2000 at 00:31:06 (EST) 11/23/2000 I've never heard the full story behind this $600,000 Californian deal. All I know is this: a) the offer was made b) Shirov rejected it as too low - only $200,000 for the loser for two matches would barely cover the bills c) William Wirth 'generously' added another $200,000 to the prize fund so Shirov may have seen another $75K d)still too low, plus Shirov had other potential bidders e) all of sudden the Californian offer disappeared in a puff of smoke f) Kasparov's arbitrary deadline passed g) the recriminations began Have I missed anything out? Maid - Thursday, November 23, 2000 at 00:42:30 (EST) 11/23/2000 Incidentally, your 'chess holocaust' wisecrack didn't go unnoticed :) Also, when is Salov returning? It would be nice to hear his comments/corrections to Ree's piece at Chesscafe.com: http://www.chesscafe.com/hans/hans.htm Maid - Thursday, November 23, 2000 at 00:31:54 (EST) 11/23/2000 Re. El Secretario. Presumably, Gelfand would have signed a legally binding document. Karpov will tell you all about that. Shirov signed nothing which carried a signature from the most important signatory ie.the moneyman. BTW Salov was part of Shirov's team then. Maybe the prospect of his cut of Shirov's money temporarily blinded his judgment also. Another difference with the FIDE event is that Gelfand or Shirov for that matter aren't seeded to the semi-final. Maid - Thursday, November 23, 2000 at 00:22:45 (EST) 11/22/2000 Re: Maid. Try to imagine, e.g., B.Gelfand has qualified for the World Championship Final in Tehran and is denied his place on a pretext of "low commercial value" for the Iranian public, his prize money not paid to him and his opponent from the semifinal given his place in the final. What a storm of screaming and squealing would be raised by the journalistic gangs all over the world! Wouldn't the case be branded as a "chess holocaust"? Would there be anyone talking about "the integrity" of the loser from the semifinal? The KK farce was, is and will forever remain a very negative publicity for the whole InterNazi community. It's high time the scoundrels acknowledge the committed crimes, show signs of repentance, apologize and start paying reparations to their victims. El Secretariado del WPC - Wednesday, November 22, 2000 at 22:24:17 (EST) 11/20/2000 Having a pop at Kramnik because he usurped Shirov's right is one thing; accusing him of chucking a match is quite another. Next time I see Shirov on ICC, I will encourage him to apologise. BTW when is Salov getting back? Maid - Monday, November 20, 2000 at 00:13:54 (EST) 11/19/2000 I heard that the score between Kramnik and Shirov since Cazorle is 2-0 to Kramnik. Is this correct? I'm no suggesting, of course, that this in anyway negates Shirov's right to play for the title. Blue - Sunday, November 19, 2000 at 15:13:56 (EST) 11/16/2000 Hi, Maid: ¿What do you mean by "Kramnik's integrity"? bondadosa@hola.org - Thursday, November 16, 2000 at 11:13:35 (EST) 11/5/2000 Que pedazo de página. menudo diseño más bonito. fino y elegante. bertoile <yalosabes@telelin.es> - Sunday, November 05, 2000 at 00:28:51 (EST) 11/3/2000 It must be said that the predictions of fixed match have been shot down in flames. The conspiracy theorists should, at least, have the decency to acknowledge that they were wrong in this instance. Say what you want about Kasparov, but they were directly questioning Kramnik's integrity. Maid - Friday, November 03, 2000 at 21:15:07 (EST) 10/25/2000 ok now I predict this in the ridiculous K vs K match. Kasparov will make a miracle. He will come back and win 2 games out of 6 and the rest will be drawn. Maybe make it even more dramatic, Gary will win 3 (one of this win be on the last game, ofcourse), Kramnik 1 and 2 will be drawn. I hope this K-K bullshit will jsut end soon and Shirov can take Gary to the gallows.. oops.. sorry the 'cort of law' and #### him royally. freak <freak@freak.com> - Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at 23:56:02 (EDT) 10/25/2000 I think Mr. Salov is leading Mr. Shirov astray. The InterNazis are the individuals of the same nationality, of strong racist views, dispersed in different countries, who deceitfully seize conceptual, informational, mediatic, ideological, financial, economic, police and military control of them with the aim to oppress, exploit and exterminate autochthonous population and promulgate belief in supremacy of their race, anti-indoeuropeanism and the establishment of their metropolis by some superior force as a dominant world power. Emmanuel Kant defined InterNazis as "International gang of brigands", Voltaire called them "calculating animals", J.G.Fichte gave us a fine example of a sharp critical analysis of this racist group. These pitiful, shallow-minded individuals somehow manage to combine a high degree of mendacity, spiritual sterility and general lack of intellectual aptitudes with tragicomic conviction of being envied by the surrounding people. Kasparov-Kramnik match is a typical InterNazi affair. We'll ask our President to write a detailed report on this subject. Lo había intentado la GMA y fracasó estrepitosamente. Me sorprende verme atribuída una presunción tan evidentemente utópica." La actual FIDE is infinitamente más democrática que suelen ser sus detractores. El Secretariado del WPC - Saturday, September 09, 2000 at 12:27:55 (EDT) 9/9/2000 well I sort of take back what I said. I mean "not the part about Shirov.. he does deserve the shot @GK", but more about Anand being the one to dethrone Garry. Well actually if you think about it, it might not happen. why?? well, firstly Garry wants Kramnikto be the next champ. OK. two, Kramnik doesn't deserve the title or the shot at it. In any case whats stopping Garry from dropping the match to Vlad and regain it in a rematch a year later?? More money.. more fun for these two guys.. yeah?? Jonathan Blake <jblake77@hotmail.com> - Tuesday, August 29, 2000 at 01:26:04 (EDT) 8/25/2000 While the Kasparov-Shirov match was attempting to find a suitable sponsor, Kasparov was telling the world that he would easily defeat Shirov in a match and that Anand would be a "better" match opponent... No wonder sponsorship interest in the Kasparov-Shirov match evaporated. Afterwards, Kasparov was saying that only Kramnik could really provide him with real competition, as he would also defeat Anand easily. So, now we have it: Kramnik -- who lost his 1998 match against Shirov -- is Kasparov's opponent. So unfair and an obvious manipulation of events by Kasparov. My advice to Shirov is to keep playing creative and highly-competitive chess, focus on always improving your game, and, someday, the title match -- and perhaps the title -- will be yours.
